International Students

Syracuse Welcome 2012 Chancellor's Reception for International Students

What Are You Doing This Summer?

The SummerStart program welcomes international students who are enrolling in Syracuse University’s upcoming fall term. The program covers a six-week period, beginning in July and ending in August. During this time, you can earn up to nine (9) credits toward your SU degree. Students take 7-9 credits in courses of their choice and a 1-credit seminar on college learning strategies and adjustment to college life.

As an international student, SummerStart will also help you to adjust to classroom expectations and residence hall life.

What about weekends?… you may ask. There are many opportunities to socialize with not only SummerStart students but also with other international students who will be on campus. The gathering place for international students is the Slutzker Center for International Services, where you will find a welcoming staff who will respond to your questions and concerns.

If you have additional questions about the enrollment process for international students, read more at International Student FAQs.

* Note: A course in English as a second language will be available to students who need to reinforce their English language skills.
