Placement Testing
To ensure proper course selection, all SummerStart students must complete placement tests for mathematics and writing (Some VPA students do not need to complete the math placement test. If you are admitted to a studio art program contact VPA directly to inquire about your placement requirements). The Writing and Math Placement Exams are to be taken online. All exams should be completed and submitted to SuStart@syr.edu on or before June 16th, 2008. For the Writing Exam click on Writing, For Math Exam click on Mathematics.
The math placement exam requires an account name & password.
Account Name is: math "space" exam or math exam
Password is: orange
All exams must be completed and mailed or submitted no later than June 16th, 2008.
These exams are given under the honor system. Please note that these assessments are for placement purposes only. They will have no impact on your course grades. They should accurately reflect your skill level or you might be inappropriately placed potentially resulting in poor performance.
